Back here again

Hey, guys!

I have been idle for four years. Yes, it WAS that long. Honestly, I totally forgot about my WordPress account, until today. Life happened. I was busy and going through the motions for the past years, and even now.

I miss writing here. I guess, I have a lot of catching up to do, yes?

I’m not that same girl from four years ago. I learned a lot from my experiences, failures and mistakes. I learned to move on from the loss of my loved ones’ passing, especially that of my father. I learned not to keep quiet at all times and fight back when I know that I’m not in the wrong. I learned that you cannot truly know a person until you live with them.

I realized that words spoken against to you by other people have no power over who you are. I learned to accept that sometimes things are beyond my control, and that I just have to trust God’s perfect plan for me.

I began to filter all my feelings and emotions. You know, I’ve been a pessimistic mess before, and I’m trying real hard to channel those thoughts into positive ones. And it’s a good, rewarding thing.

Yes, I did grow up. ☺️🙏🏼

Thoughts about Politics

Politics can pave way to progress. Our vote is important. We are given this right and privilege to choose the right leader who can lead us to the right path. Each of us has different bets on who will win. That is understandable. We support the candidate that we feel strongly about; a candidate who is God-fearing, honest and has a great value on a person’s dignity.

The election ended here in our country. Yet, the supporters of each candidate seem to be in a battlefield. I want to share my feelings about this situation. One can support his candidate. You can promote him, campaign for him and say good things about him. BUT a supporter, or a candidate for that matter, should not spread rumors or start a gossip about his contender. This is what I’d like to point out regarding the politics here in our country. Since the start of the campaign period until yesterday, we tend to get personal. That is unprofessional and unacceptable.

Here’s another thing, we always complain. We always point out the mistakes of a leader when he/she wins. We complain that they are not doing their job right, they do not keep their promises and they don’t extend help to the needy. We always do that, and it becomes a habit.

We always want a change in our government and in our country. Our political leaders cannot do that alone. They need us. They need the people to cooperate. I know they are not perfect. Some are corrupt but we cannot name names. Some are good and doing their best in serving our country. We must remember that WE choose our leaders. Why vote for him/her then complain the next?

If we want change to happen, we should start among ourselves. We should begin doing small, great things and pay it forward. Instead of complaining, try to cooperate and work hard. Instead of saying negative things about our leaders, why not pray for them? That they may lead our town and our country towards betterment. Politics can get dirty, but we should not step into the mud, as well. Let our hearts and minds be pure.

Change begins when a person decides for himself. Change happens when people unite and believe in each other. Be the change.

Celebrating LIFE and LOVE

Love, they say, comes unexpectedly. I am a true believer of that. You came into my life when I least expected it. You were my exact opposite. You have those qualities that were very different from the standards that I set on a man. But the thing is, I could not resist you. You have that ability to make me laugh at your corniest jokes. You never failed to impress me.

I am thankful to God because He gave you another year to celebrate your life. I admired your redeeming attitudes and learned to accept your not-so-good side. I’ve seen you grow. You became mature and more responsible as the years passed. I’ve been with you in every struggle and disappointments; and we both rejoiced when you succeed. I am not lucky to have you. I am BLESSED.

We encounter petty arguments and quarrels now and then. I am always the proud one and you keep telling me that. Through you, I learned how to compromise and lower my pride. You taught me how to extend my patience more. Yes, we can have hundreds of fights in the future, but those can never tear us apart. I learned that from you. We complement each other. This relationship made us better persons. I’ve never been this happy before. We are each other’s “future”.

Today is your special day. We may not be able to celebrate it in a lavish restaurant; but being with you is enough. I want to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for coming into my life and making me believe in love again. Thank you for understanding my worries and doubts. Thank you for the endless laughter and smiles that you bring. Thank you for being a family man. Thank you for sharing to me your dreams…dreams that we will pursue…one day at a time. Most importantly, thank you for loving me truthfully.

I will always be here; just as you promised that you will always be by my side. You are my “reality-ever-after”, my destiny and my one true love. You once told me that loving someone is a choice and a decision. (I guess you already made your choice. :p) Every single day, you always show to me that I am loved. Thank you for not giving up on me. I am looking forward to our future together. I’ve never seen a man who is so serious about talking his future plans with me…until you. I will always love you, Mac.

“In you I have found my better half and the sweetest love that I ever imagined. I’m so happy that God has brought me to you. Happy Birthday, Dad! I love you! God bless us. ♥ “

Keeping It Holy

Catholics all over the world know that this week is special. We are remembering Jesus Christ’s suffering and death. In the Philippines, many traditions are practiced during Holy Week. Some people go to the mountains and do the Station of the Cross. Some prefer to go to a quiet place and reflect. Others choose to stay at home and spend time with their family. In my case, I don’t go to the mountains or some place else. I haven’t witnessed how a “taltal” looks, either. During Holy Week, I stay at home and watch the featured program on TV. On Good Friday, we attend a procession and visit the church afterwards. We also hear mass and have a confession.

Whatever practices we have during Holy Week, we must remember one thing: Jesus suffered and died for our sins. It is the most important thing. He sacrificed his life in order to save us. Jesus could have chosen the other way, but He never disobeyed His Father. We should keep in mind that if not for Jesus, we are nothing. It doesn’t mean that we should keep on sinning every year, confess our sins, and do it again. It means that we have to obey our Father, just like Jesus did. Everything we do, we offer back to Him. We glorify, praise and worship Him.

This is a spiritual realization for me. This year, and on the years to come, I plan on working on my spiritual being, honing it everyday. I know God doesn’t require me to be perfect. I just have to do the right thing in accordance with His Words. I long to be closer to Him every single day. As what Pope Francis said, “Let us keep a place for Christ in our lives, let us care for one another and let us be loving custodians of creation.”

Let us be holy for the rest of our lives, not just on Holy Week. God loves us. 🙂

ROBsession…it never goes away.

It’s been five years since I laid eyes on him. He was the most handsome man I’ve ever seen. When he reprise the role of Edward Cullen, I know that I was already smitten. That was the start of my ROBsession. I was new to this “fangirling”, but I liked the idea.

Since 2008, I followed every latest news about him — his life and love, his career, his hobbies. I bought every single magazine featuring him, biographies, posters and calendars. I have cutouts of his interviews from the newspapers and kept them until now. For me, these were not enough. I could have camped out for days and attend every movie premieres if given the chance. During the five-year span, my feelings for him haven’t changed…a bit. He is, and always will be, my vampire-man.

Many people are wondering why I have this kind of thing towards him. Many think that I am crazy, but I don’t care. I was attracted first with his looks, and after watching a series of his interviews, I came to know the real Robert Thomas Pattinson. I am not saying that he is perfect. He smokes, drinks in a pub, and even parties. He likes being goofy. What sets him apart from other celebrities is his humility. The kind of attitude that I rarely see from Hollywood stars.

His fame skyrocketed during the Twilight Saga regime, but he approached this with gracefulness and in a low-key fashion. Even when he was named as The Sexiest Vampire and other titles, he still walks the limelight on his jeans, white shirt, beanies and his longtime companion, his guitar. I have so much to say about this man. I have many reasons to be thankful that I was given the chance to be a part of his community.

Through my Robsession, I was able to become a part of Twilighters Anonymous. This is a hub for Twihards. I met friends all over the world, whom I share the same passion with. Until now, we are communicating with each other. This is one of the most cherished things I have with them. Rob taught me how to be humble. That as persons, no matter where life takes us, we should keep our feet firmly grounded. He also taught me to live out my passion. Aside from being an actor, he is also a musician. He is that versatile. Lastly, I learned how to never give up and continue making dreams until all of them will become a reality. Rob inspired me to do that. Just as he is living his dream, I am doing everything to make my dreams visible.

He is my role model. What I feel for him is not that crazy fangirling. It is about the love of a fan to her idol that springs from respect and admiration. This is a one-in-a-million feeling. My dream of meeting him one day is still on the works. The Twilight fever had its curtain call last year, but the memories will always be in my heart.

    P.S. To Rob,

Thank you for bringing Cedric Diggory, Edward Cullen to life. Thank you for sharing a part of yourself and your talent to every movie that you made. I know your success will continue for the years to come. Your fans will always be here to support you. We love you that  BIG. 🙂

Just so you know, ROBSESSION will always be a part of my life. It will never go away. Image

Never Compare.

In our world today, people tend to compare themselves to others. We are always on the lookout for others’ success, happiness and relationships. Why would they feel that way?

One thing that I learned in life is to never, ever compare myself to other people. Don’t envy or compete with them. You are only doing some harm to yourself. I am in this world to please God, not to please others. Even though I don’t have all the material things life has to offer, I am HAPPY. I am blessed because God gave me these special persons in my life. I don’t have to ask for more. 🙂 Image
